no, it doesn’t make you “gangsta” whatsoever because that’s not what hip hop is about despite what the mainstream suggests. i too got a “shout-out” and i’m by no means a “gangsta.” curious as to why you’d come to such a conclusion…
i realize this post is from over a year ago, but for some reason i randomly made my way back to it. considering your audience i still find your response to being “shouted out” by kin keezy to be rather ignorant and offensive to say the least. again, hip hop is incredibly diverse and considering the music/the message that kin keezy is known for–your response is inconsistent and inconsiderate. would you still be a “gangsta” had someone from another genre “shouted you out?” you clearly thought nothing of your comment because its not a culture you relate to so like any other outsider you mocked it.
No “mocking” intended Kin. I was really touched that you included me in your music and I was just trying to say thank you. I’m sorry to hear you took it the wrong way.
Lord Vegan/Decolonize’s comments do not reflect my own. I noticed you responded to his comments, possibly assuming they were posted by me. I have no problem with you saying Gangsta, Shout out, or anything you darn well please. I appreciate your contributions to the vegan movement, and you inspiration and support of my music.
I still need that ethiopian cookbook. I haven’t forgot. I just keep making babies and moving around… so it hasn’t topped the list yet. I intend on getting it. 🙂

Dude. Mellow out. I was being facetious!

Are you “keeping it real” for the rest of us?? Yeesh … get a sense of humour ya ding-a-ling. It’s all good. 🙂
