I had to get up at 5:30am to get home from Spokane but it was worth it because my friends Sho, Mo & Henry were in town for one day and there was no way I was going to miss seeing them. It was also the anniversary of my Mum’s passing … and it’s always a weird day for me … so spending it with a “sister/friend” like Shoshana (who is someone I’ve known since I was 2 years old) was the best way to spend the day.
Got home. Threw my bags in the bedroom. Had a nice welcome home cuddle with Gerry (before he headed off to work). Hopped in the shower and got dressed just in time for them to come over to the house! Weeee!! Mo had to go to do a sound-check (he’s on tour with Jann Arden) so Sho, Henry, Fergus and I went to the park for some fun.
Fergus doesn’t do well around small children but he did pretty good with Henry. He didn’t hide under the couch once!! 🙂
Henry did really well too! I have SO many toys on display and I thought he would lose it when I told him he couldn’t play with them … but he was really good. I gave him the toys he could play with (all the wrestling figures) and we had a gay old time playing with them. He’s such a good boy! 🙂 I also got to hear some rough cuts from the new Monkey Bunch cd… and it’s going to be amazing! No release date yet but I’ll let you know.
Later that evening we met Mo & Gerry for dinner at Futaba and ate so much sushi I almost exploded. It was a lovely evening and I wish we had more time together but I’m so happy for the time that we had.
Everyone left around 11am the next day and I sat on the couch and vegged for the entire day. I didn’t bathe or eat or get dressed… with the exception of a pee break outside for Fergus – I lay on the couch napping on and off until 6pm when Gerry got home. I was exhausted and needed to catch up on some sleep…
I’m glad to be home. So glad. I can’t wait to go to the beach and eat burritos on Monday and get back to my regular life. But first?? Gotta unpack and do some laundry. Ugh.
THANKS AGAIN! To everyone who organized events and to all of you who came out. It was a real treat to meet/visit with all of you and I hope we can do it again soon!
